The Journey

THE JOURNEY
by justme

 (Read by the author)

At first you did not recognise me…..I came to wake you because you told me so.
You told me you would sleep; you told me just a breath ago.

It seems so long ago, and yet….!

The whirling whirl of everything, but stop …and then a gust passed over me,
not of wind
or air but
of spirit…
I remembered you;
I remembered why I came to you.
It was because you told me to
I shook you at first, but you did not know me.
You wanted me to go away.
Then you looked at me.
What emerged was a strange curiosity.

Then you saw yourself in me.

Serenity,
depth,
then finally – mortality

Oh to miss a thousand years, oh to weep a thousand tears
‘Have I nothing? Is what you cried

Silence prevailed

Soon
you flew high.

Then…

Crashing, tumbling torrents of fury
Smashing gouging thunders
Crater and mass obliterating gory.
Why me?’ you said, why you?” you asked

I came to wake you because you told me so, you told me you would sleep, you told me this, just a breath ago.
I am come to wake you because you told me to..

You came for me?
You promised you would come for me!

Brooding, effervescent unravelling
Bubbling, and unfolding epiphany.
Eyes that see, ears that hear
the veil has lifted, all is clear.

Tenderness touch,
warm embrace,
then finally -translucency.

Recognition of a hundred lives
joyful laugh – bursting breath

Then you looked at me

Oh my self you came for me.
I asked you to wake me up.
You remembered, you came for me.

Yes. I came because you told me to.
I woke you because you asked me to.

Thank you friend.

Now I must go.
I will drift
with the wind.
Rise in the ether
and fall with the snow

Your eyes are closing and now you will sleep
Is there a promise that I should keep?
Oh dear friend remember me
Come and wake me before my end.
Tell me that I sent you so
Let me know I sent you.

Just a breath, just a moment ago

Family

SHOW ME THE MAN WHO DOES NOT LOVE
by justme

Show me the man who does not love
The life that he does lead
A forgetful man, a wanting man
just longing to succeed.

Show me the man who does not love
the family he has built
A broken man, a soaken man
a man refused of guilt.

Show me the man who does not love
The quiet of nights sleep
A valiant man, a daring man
His home to duty keep.

Show me the man who does not dream
of perfection as his own
A strident man, a steady man
His life he give alone.

Show me the man who does not love
the fulfillment of being right
A stronger man, a determined man
a man who stands to fight.

Show me the man who does not love
the friends and family tie.
An honest man, a hopeful man
a man who hides to cry.

Show me the man who does not love
The freedom promised from god
A fearing man, a compliant man
a man doomed to sod.

Show me the man who does not lose
the desire to be free
whose every wrong and every right
is all so he can see.
Such is the man that I am now
let angels shout out loud
Let rivers burst and valleys roar
Instruct and chase the cloud.

And when all men’s thoughts and noise and dash
finally settles down
Let stillness seep and nature keep
let there be no further sound

Then show me the man who does not love.

Fire

FIRE
by justme

Have you fire my friend?
Do the lashing flames tear the flesh of obstinate men?
Do the curves and flicks, lick the calming lips of,
blessed men?
Does the fire of true memory, companion with light,
to chase darkness away?
Or do you subtly, slowly, seductively
convince it of its nothingness?

Do you envelope the frosting, shaking child, with glowing warmness
that protrudes and devours that  icy, lifeless cold
To replace it with chocolate tinker belles
Releasing lavender droplets
and sunset rolls.
Accepting nothing less
But a glowing fest
Of love.

Do you roar from the heavens?
“I am that which is brave, I drag my fear, kicking and screaming until it relents,
For I am the master of fear and fear shall never be my master”

Do you whisper to the wind?
“I am love and though love leaves me I shall always await it’s return
for love and I long for each other, we are as rain and the river”
Do you stand above the mountain top and spreading your arms wide shout
“I am as the sun, I emit my everything to you my flesh and blood,
I throw my coloured cloak of kindness to you, that you may suffocate with warmth of my hallowed heart”
If you can do this,
my child,
You have fire!

Enchantment

ENCHANTMENT
by justme
Dance with me, oh child of God
For love has left me and enchantment took it’s place.
Spin me not but look upon mine face
For love has danced with me, yet love forgot
Love looked upon the rose as beauty full of innocence
Yet love forgets me. I too don’t know
What the wind has whispered
I wish to know, but love forgets me now
Only love knows how,
Or why,
Or when,
Or best
I feel the wind, yet I know not what it says.
I cling to life
I fear,I cling no more.
I slip upon the thorn and life slips away from me
I look upon a mirror with no reflective face
For love has left me and enchantment
took it’s place.Yet, once upon a time, in the land of dreams
All fell still
The earth made way and gaped with longing love
The crust of life broke free
The rose was me and I was you and we were one
I could only, just be.
Once upon a time In a land
Where the minute stop and the blind can seeThe wind whispered and I heard
Enchantment left and love immersed, within the rest
And the rose was swallowed and
Destiny fulfilled,
My simple, enchanted quest.
For love.
